Biography.

Sammy is a film & TV choreographer/movement Director.

 

'The Winter King', 'Bodies', The Full Monty' (TV Series), 'The Outlaws', 'Killing Eve', 'The Irregulars', 'It's a Sin‘, 'Sanditon series 1,2 & 3’, 'Pennyworth' and ‘Gentleman Jack’ are amongst recent TV productions and others include ‘Granchester’ ‘Victoria ’ ‘Endeavour ’ ‘That Day We Sang’ ‘A Discovery of Witches’ ‘ Eric and Ernie’ and ‘Ballet Shoes’ with Emma Watson. She also choreographed the film ‘Nativity Rocks’ in 2019.

Sammy was born in Yorkshire and after attending Cynthia Carr’s school in Leeds she gained a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dance age 9, this then led her on to successfully gaining a place at the Royal Ballet School aged 12. 

Her training continued at Bush Davies and Guildhall and at 17 yrs she performed in her first of many West End shows ‘42nd Street’ at the prestigious Drury Lane Theatre, London.

During a career of 15 years performing in theatrical shows, TV drama and light entertainment such as ‘Me and My Girl’ ‘Sweet Charity’ ‘ Beauty and The Beast’ ‘West Side Story.’’ Singing In The Rain’ ‘Seven Brides For Seven Brothers’ and ‘ My Fair Lady’ Sammy learned her craft not only as a performer but progressing forwards to assistant choreographer and resident director and ultimately to choreographer and movement director in her own right.

She has taught and continues to teach many well known leading artistes dance and choreography in TV, film, and theatre. She also teaches her own workshops and audition technique classes.

Sammy is also a dance adjudicator for The British and International Federation of Festivals.
